The Locality - West Cork
So, why come all the way to West Cork for a Videographer Course? It most certainly is not to video city streetscapes, shopping centres or discos!
If you browse the hillwalking videos it will give you an idea of the scenery available either on my doorstep or not far away. I have included a short video of Gúgan Barra below which was shot using a hand-held camcorder.
Gugan Barra - The River Lee
In the nearby Gúgan Barra there is a splendid lake where the river Lee rises, a forest park owned and maintained by Coillte and a reconstructed hermitage where St Finbarr (the first bishop of Cork) set up his church - enormous potential for shooting a short documentary that could be based on nature, history, religion or even an interview of some of the local people.
An ideal location if you want to mix a holiday with a learning experience :)
